I was approached by Spark PR & Activate agency to do a live painting for Tiger's "Fortune Avenue" launch party. The agency proposed to paint on glass for the gig, something different, something that hasnt been done as much. The glass isnt an ideal subtitute for a canvas, therefore I compromised with a plexiglass option. I have never painted on it, but was confident that it should go well. 2 hours preparation, 3 hours live painting and 3 hours postproduction work.
Enjoyed the process, the colours of Tiger beer branding have matched the pallet I've been using in my own work receintly.
Photos by Tiger. The Launch party was held at the Racket Bar, downtown Auckland.
After the artwork was completed, I realized a slight mistake in right eye positioning, since the work is going to be reproduced on T-shirts, I decided to fix it. Using Puppet warp it was easy as a pie.
The original quick digital sketch I provided for client.
